Why Do Most Men Lack the Confidence to Attract Women?

Great question. Glad you asked.

I’m going to give you two answers. Your will probably like one and hate the other.

Answer #1: Because that’s the way we are programmed. From the time you made your way out of your mother’s uterus to just a few minutes ago, you have been in the process of being programmed. By your parents, your teachers, your friends, TV, movies, radio, Madison Avenue, the women’s movement; they have all had a part of your programming.

Don’t get me wrong, programming isn’t always a bad thing. Back in the days when we lived on the savanna and hunted for our dinner, if we saw a lion, our programming would kick in. Our heart rate would jump, adrenalin would be pumped into our system, and we would run away as fast as possible. You learned that by watching the other hunters in your tribe. Reacting to a lion in that way is not natural (we weren’t born with it). It is something that we learned (programmed). If our tribe reacted to a bunny that way, we would have the same reaction when we saw a bunny (Monty Python anyone?). So programming helped us survive.

But programming is bad when we are taught the wrong lessons. In school, boys are taught to sit for long periods of time (not natural), and if we show any independence at all (this boy is a troublemaker), it is quickly exterminated. We are taught to go along to get along, not to rock the boat, and failure leads to embarrassment and ridicule. Whether you realize it our not, that is exactly what our educations system teaches us.

If you were lucky, you had parents that understood things like independence, failure is how we learn, and taking risks is good. But most of us weren’t that lucky (me included). We had well meaning parents that tried to get us raised with the least possible hassle, and in the process failed to teach us how to be a man. And if we were really unlucky, we had parents that told us every day that we are stupid and will never amount to anything.

Here’s the part that I find most amazing: Most people don’t even know that they’re programmed. They go through their lives as slaves to their emotions (programming), and always wonder why things don’t work out for them, like robots. They are like rudderless boats, floating down the river without any chance of changing direction.

Why bother you with all of this. Because once you realize that you have been programmed, you now have the ability to change your own programming. You can become who and what you want to be, once you know how to change your programming. The possibilities are endless!
